Gemmotherapy is a new branch of herbal medicine, which has been steadily gaining recognition in recent years.

The remedies it uses are made from the buds and young shoots of trees and shrubs.  They are gathered in Spring, when they are just about to emerge and form leaves or flowers.  This is the peak moment of biochemical and energetic activity in their annual cycle.

Gemmotherapy originated in France in the 1950s, in the work of a group of doctors who studied its use in detoxification treatments.  Further studies and subsequent clinical experience has revealed its effectiveness in other conditions.
